The International Conferences on Climate and Development (ICID) were developed to strengthen discussions on the sustainable development of global drylands.
In light of Brazil’s decision to host the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP 30) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in the city of Belém, state of Pará, from November 10 to 21, 2025, and considering the disproportionate impact of climate change on arid, semi-arid, and sub-humid regions of the globe, a group of institutions from Brazil and other countries decided to organize the 3rd International Conference on Climate and Development in Arid, Semi-Arid, and Dry Sub-Humid Regions (ICID III).
