Specialist in the African climate system and Director of Research at IRD‘s Institute of Environmental Geosciences (IGE)
Currently based at Félix Houphouët Boigny University in Côte d’Ivoire, Arona Diedhiou has contributed to the work of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNCCC) as lead author of the IPCC Special Report on the impacts of 1.5°C global warming in 2018, then as editor-reviewer of the IPCC’s latest assessment report (AR6, 2021).
He has been appointed member of the Science-Policy Interface (SPI) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
